With over 20 years of research, we’ve developed a groundbreaking program designed to help seniors successfully age in place. By bringing together a powerful network of church partners, healthcare providers, EMS and Fire Departments, and senior care organizations, we’re working to ensure you or your loved ones stay safe and independent at home.

What the RIGHTCARE Risk Reduction Program Does

  • Our primary goal is to help you thrive in your home by providing comprehensive solutions tailored to your needs, ensuring your continued success and independence. This program is designed to reduce risks, prevent unnecessary pain and suffering, and enhance the overall quality of life for seniors in our community.

  • Our RIGHTCARE Risk Reduction Program is led by the Galveston County Health District (Galveston EMS) and works closely with our partners including local faith communities, healthcare providers, and senior industry professional and organizations.

  • Residents who use the program are up to 55% less likely to have unsafe occurrences and hospital visits. We also see much higher levels of independence and 22% higher levels of quality of life. All of these indicators lead to what we call longer adjusted quality of life years living in the community (live at home longer and happier)!

  • The consultation and assessment is FREE to all Galveston County residents.

  • Any information from the visit is ONLY shared with YOU and anyone you would like it shared with.

  • One of our certified experts in risk reduction and solutions will schedule a convenient for you to come by. They will do a RightCare Assessment across five domains of risk. The software and training being used is the best there is for capturing complex information and drawing out actionable solutions. We will then go over the areas of risk and collaborate with you on the multiple solutions that can make you safer. The final report/recommendations will be the ones you choose. This information is shared only with you in a report and with anyone else you wish to have it. If you would like help with follow up on the solutions that will be provided.

  • Please have whoever you would like to be there to understand the risk and help with collaboration and support. Having the people you want there will save additional time and help with planning and follow through.

  • The Program does not provide resources for paying bills or medications or medicaid programming. The program is designed to give industry leading solutions to help a person age in place, and to assist in helping implant the desired solutions.

  • The RightCare Community Risk Reduction (CRR) program was developed by a diverse team of professionals, including firefighters and EMS personnel, researchers, first responders, clergy, clinicians, and senior care experts. This collaborative effort aims to assist local fire departments in reducing risks and enhancing the quality of life for seniors within their communities. The program builds upon over two decades of specialized research and leverages the extensive experience of fire departments across the United States. By integrating insights from various fields, the RightCare CRR provides comprehensive solutions to address the complex challenges associated with senior safety and well-being. In addition to its research foundation, RightCare CRR offers certification in advanced risk reduction assessment and care planning for key community organizations. Certified entities have demonstrated a 400% greater effectiveness in risk reduction compared to non-certified counterparts, transforming communities into proactive environments that support successful aging at home. Overall, the RightCare Community Risk Reduction program originated from a concerted effort to combine research, practical experience, and community collaboration to effectively reduce risks and improve the lives of seniors.
